This is More Dangerous Than it Looks

Hyram has decided to return to his favorite roost, my desk top. There he is in all his glory, toy at hand. It’s fun to have him so close and affectionate. But this perch location has its drawbacks. See that tail sticking out to the left? It’s a mouse movement destroyer. Its also a really good broom. It has been known to knock the mouse entirely off the desk. Anything on the surface of the desk that gets in the way of that tail goes elsewhere. Notice the phone beside the corner of the monitor? He must have been on the desk last night while I was sleeping because this morning I had to crawl under the desk to retrieve the phone from behind the desk where his tail had knocked it. Sometimes I distress Hyram by insisting that he orient himself in the opposite direction. That usually saves my workspace from too much disturbance but it isn’t perfect. I guess in a perfect world I’d have a desk that had a shelf just for him and his tail could drape down from the height showing off all its glory. Sorry you can’t see the entire tail. It’s very brush like and really magnificent. As is my boy! Cheers!

Thank you, Binoy. We are in total agreement. Hyram is is the most beautiful cat I've ever seen.

Cheers!

LOL Sorry Jackie! She might change her mind if she ever had to clean up the messes that cats can make of your sofa, carpet, and let's not even mention the litter box.
:-)

Cheers!

WTG Hyram!

Where's the fun if you can't be just a little bit destructive ...

Hyram says to tell you that you've got the right attitude, Terry. No surprise there. He seems to prefer gentlemen to ladies as sitters and friends. Now I'm going to wonder what mischief they get into on those rare occasions when I travel.

Cheers!

That is one long tail, lol. BTW cute cat. I find things below my desk to when Matthew wants to play with my computer, lol. Thanks for sharing, Anna :)

Thank you, Anna! I'll pass the compliment along to Hyram. Glad to know that I'm not the only frustrated owner bending down to crawl on the floor for our feline friends comfort.

Peace!

I'd worry about those big ginormous back feet, too...I believe the darling Hyram could do some damage with those!!! He is beautiful, but I'm reminded of the old "and where does your pet Grizzly sleep...anywhere he wants" lol

I've got one of those Hyrams, Lee. I know exactly what you're talking about. Mine likes to type, but only when I am typing. She likes to type the keys before I can get to them, thus creating gobbledegook!
Blessings, Star

LOL Sandi, When I told Hyram that you said his feet were ginormous and he smiled and asked if you wanted to play boxing with him? LOL He's quite proud of those feet and thinks his size makes him special and deserving of better treatment.

Purr!, says Hyram

Lee

Hi Star, aren't out cats good at reminding us to play? My boys can't get to the keyboard because I have it in a flat tray under the desk but they like to get in the way of any paperwork I'm doing.

Blessings,
Lee

our cat vadar isn't much for getting on top of stuff. every now and then he'll jump onto a kitchen chair and peek around; otherwise, his favorite spots up high are the bed, the top of sparky's crate (better window view and good sunning), and the top of the couch where he can curl and uncurl his tail around you :)

Lee said...

LOL I think Vadar is a very pleasant cat. Not intrusive at all. And I would love to have him near me if I was sitting on your sofa.

Yesterday Hyram bit me because I was trying to brush him instead of letting him sit there and scratch at his fleas. Sigh. Desktops aren't all they are cracked up to be. And I'm thinking a board tacked to the back of the desk might save me some on my back time under it.

Hugs!

Trudy my dog doesn't climb on my desk. She just has this way of scratching the door to say she wants to go outside every time I sit down at the computer. Then of course by the time I've sat back down and reminded myself what I was about to do, she's scratching to get back in!

But she's our sweetheart. And I can tell that Hyram is yours. Or one of yours.

San, it can be kind of eerie the way that our pets know just when we are most available for their needs. My boys can almost tell time now when it comes to their supper.

Hugs!

Lee,I can't believe it! This was exactly what our late cat JC (Junkyard Cat) looked like.He lived with us for 13 years and was the most intelligent little animal I have ever seen. Beautiful. After a couple of weeks with a bad back and not much blogging, I changed my blog's name to "Count Sneaky's Journal" and cleaned up the look of the thing. So, I'm now at countsneakysjournal.blogspot.com. My new e-mail is htstone@gmail.com. Let me know what you think. My best. Count Sneaky
