Response to Sandi's "Smoke Smoke Smoke That Cigarette"

That was one great post Sandi did. I loved that she is supporting good health and decrying a seriously addictive and unhealthy habit. Even more, I loved the trek down memory lane that her use of the song lyrics took me on. When I was attending San Marcos Academy and in my senior year, all the seniors would go over to the headmaster's house and have social gatherings. One of us was really good at the piano and would play popular songs for us to sing. I'm sure Headmaster Doncaster and his wife liked it as much as we did. One of our more popular numbers was the song, Smoke, Smoke, Smoke that Cigarette" which was made popular by Tex Williams. Since Sandi brought the lyrics up I thought it might be nice to let you all hear the whole song. So I culled it from YouTube. Enjoy! And if you smoke, please stop!

Lee, thanks for dropping by my place...I truly consider it my place as I am quite honest about myself and pull no punches! Whats the point? As I told David, I wrote it with Mima in mind...here she is with MS and she SMOKES??? I couldn't believe it! I love this version of the song and enjoyed it so much! I have Don't Squeeze my Charmin (don't hold her so tight)...I'll have to see if somehow I can download it to the blogsite...love the old songs...being an old girl, you understand...and I always feel so honored when David finds something I wrote to be noteworthy! Thanks again for coming by and for posting the song...gonna have to let all my friends know, if you don't mind...
hugs
Sandi

Thanks for the return visit, Sandi! I'd be honored to have your friends visit.

MS AND SMOKING? Well that's not a good combination. I've had two friends get MS. From them I've learned is that one of the worst things is the uncertainty of what you'll have working when. That must be so scary and depressing. You're being a good friend to Mina. Maybe you can help her find something to do that isn't as destructive.

Peace! & Hope!

Hi Lee,

I thought Sandi's was a brilliant post as well. How wonderful of you to highlight it.

Thank you, David! I too thought the post was wonderful. Both my parents smoked and had to stop. So did my sister. My grandfather smoked till he got emphysema. I lost a great uncle to lung cancer. I'm all in favor of anything that will help others stop this destructive habit.

Peace!
